With their core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green aging, the Golden State Warriors need to act now to maximize their chances of winning a championship.
The Warriors understand their best shot at adding another title to their collection is to build around their star trio and they were aggressive in doing so when they decided to trade Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards in exchange for Chris Paul.
Paul, who is in the downswing of his illustrious career, is an interesting wild card for Golden State as he’s always thrived when he has the ball in his hands.
Aside from adding Paul, though, the Warriors could still use another big man in order to contend with the likes of Nikola Jokic and Anthony Davis.
Golden State has been linked to veteran free agent Dwight Howard and the former All-Star is reportedly going to work out with Paul and Green via Jason Dumas of KRON4 News.

Howard spent this past season overseas in Taiwan where he dominated the lower-level competition, though it’s hard to imagine he’ll see that kind of productivity back in the NBA.
The Warriors’ lack of size in the frontcourt was exposed this past playoffs, so it’s no surprise that they’re evaluating their options.
Adding a player like Howard would be a low-risk move as he would only cost them a veteran’s minimum and presumably be asked to play a small role.
For now, it will be interesting to see if Golden State does end up signing Howard before training camp starts.
