The search for answers continues for 17-year-old Brissa Romero, a northern suburbs teenager who vanished one week ago on her way to a holiday party. Friends and family held a vigil on Sunday afternoon outside Bowlero in Vernon Hills, the location of the gathering she was expected to attend.
Brissa’s sister, Dulce Romero, is trying to determine if anyone contacted her during the drive. Her mother, Blanca Aguilera, tearfully pleaded for the community’s help in finding her daughter. She described Brissa as a hard worker who had dreams for college and beyond.
Following the vigil, family and friends searched the area of Town Center Road and Milwaukee Avenue, where Brissa’s license plate was captured on a traffic camera Monday night. They asked anyone who lives, works, or owns a business in the northwest suburbs to check their security video between 7-9pm on Monday, December 4.
The Carpentersville Police Department is utilizing drones to conduct a thorough search, and surveying local ponds for her vehicle, a gray 2008 Nissan Rouge with Illinois license plate number CZ64618. Authorities have noted that Brissa does not have a history of mental health challenges or running away from home.
As a reward for any information that could lead to Brissa’s whereabouts, her family is offering a $1,000. They are asking anyone with security video to contact the Carpentersville Police Department at 847-551-3481.
The disappearance of Brissa Romero has left her family and friends in shock and disbelief. But they are determined to keep searching until they have the answers they need. They remain hopeful that one day soon, Brissa will be found safe and sound.
