Analyst Praises Ravens After Impressive Win
The Baltimore Ravens are having a successful season and it just got better, following their Week 14 win over the Los Angeles Rams. After a tough fought battle, it was the Ravens who emerged with a victory, improving their season record to 10-3 and positioning themselves well for a playoff run. Now, analysts are praising the team for their impressive win and hope this momentum continues for the rest of the season.
The Ravens opened the game with a strong first quarter, scoring on their first drive off a pass from Lamar Jackson to Mark Andrews. The team would later add two more field goals, giving them a 9-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. They continued the onslaught in the second quarter, scoring 10 more points off a Mark Ingram touchdown run and a Justin Tucker field goal.
The Rams answered with a touchdown of their own in the second quarter, but the Ravens held their lead going into halftime with the score 19-7. In the second half, the Rams offense started to click, putting up 21 unanswered points. However, the Ravens weren’t going to be deterred, as Lamar Jackson stepped up and threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Marquise Brown to tie the game.
After another Tucker field goal in the fourth quarter, the Ravens were clinging onto a 3-point lead. The Rams had one last opportunity to take the lead, but the Baltimore defense was able to stand tall and force a punt. On the ensuing return, De’Anthony Thomas raced 61-yards for the eventual game-winning touchdown.
The Ravens’ stellar defense was the key in this game. Despite giving up a few big plays, they were able to make the stops when they needed to. The Rams were only able to convert 3 out of 16 third downs, and the Ravens limited them to just 290 yards of total offense.
Following the win, analysts all around the country had nothing but glowing things to say about the Ravens. ESPN’s Brian Billick said, “The Ravens have been playing tough, hard-nosed football all season and it shows in this game. Despite giving up the lead in the second half, they were able to hold firm and get a much-needed win.”
Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer was also complimentary of the Ravens performance, stating “The Ravens have been one of the best teams in the league this season and they proved why today. Nobody expected them to be in the playoff conversation this year, but with this win, they’ve put themselves in prime position to make a deep run.”
The Ravens will have a tough stretch in the coming weeks as they face the Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburgh Steelers. Fortunately, this game has given the Ravens a ton of momentum and confidence to make a serious run at the playoffs. With a strong defense and the continued development of Lamar Jackson, anything is possible for the Ravens.
