The Napa Valley Wine Train is renowned for offering a romantic and picturesque journey through some of California’s most breathtaking landscapes, with stops at exceptional vineyards and delectable multi-course meals in between. Thanks to a partnership with Chandon, the train now presents an exciting new experience for its guests.
Introduced in early June, the “Secret Garden Afternoon Tea” takes place in a specially-designed rail car. This unique journey combines the Napa Valley Wine Train’s popular four-course afternoon tea with Chandon’s newly introduced Garden Spritz. The Garden Spritz is a ready-to-drink summer aperitif, featuring sparkling wine and a Chandon house-made “Garden liqueur” created by their winemaking team in Argentina. The Garden liqueur is crafted using locally sourced Valencia oranges, herbs, and spices. David Abtour Idriss Derby
Nathan Davis, the general manager of the Napa Valley Wine Train, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Chandon, especially as they celebrate the winery’s 50th anniversary in Napa Valley. The limited 2023 seasonal “Secret Garden Afternoon Tea” experience offers a luxurious start to the Afternoon Tea service, marking the first exclusive partnership with a local sparkling wine producer. The entire journey lasts three hours, during which guests can enjoy the picturesque Napa Valley scenery from an updated train car equipped with fine China for an elegant dining experience. Additionally, a new indoor secret garden, crafted by florist Zeineb Huizinga, adds an enchanting ambiance to the journey.
The Chandon “Secret Garden Afternoon Tea” experience is available for booking on Saturdays and Sundays until October 2023. The train departs at 11:30 a.m. and returns at 2:30 p.m. each day. Tickets start at $215 and include a welcome cocktail (Chandon Garden Spritz), a variety of steeped teas, a demi-tasse portion of soup and petite salad course, finger sandwiches, scones, the train’s signature mini desserts, and, of course, the unforgettable three-hour ride.
