The Arizona Cardinals are down another star.
In an exclusive shared by former NFL star J.J. Watt, it seems like veteran TE Zach Ertz will become a hot name among Super Bowl contenders.
Watt took to Twitter to mock Adam Schefter and break the news, stating that Ertz had requested and been granted his release in hopes of pursuing another Super Bowl ring.
The former Defensive Player of the Year then jokingly said that doing Schefter’s job was quite easy.
Trying new things in retirement, so let’s steal @AdamSchefter job for a day…

Ertz is currently on Injured Reserve (IR) with a quad injury but is reportedly healthy enough to play.
The 33-year-old has made just seven appearances for the Cardinals this season.
He was with the organization since 2021, when the Philadelphia Eagles traded him for a late-round pick and Tay Gowan.
In 28 games with the Cardinals, Ertz hauled in 130 receptions for 1,167 yards and eight scores, and he now wants to go back to championship contention after two years on a not-so-competitive team.
Second-year TE Trey McBride has had start to his career, and the team seemed quite high on him early in the campaign.
He was expected to keep a prominent role in the passing game even if Ertz came back, so this doesn’t change anything for Jonathan Gannon’s team.
Even though he’s not getting any younger and has struggled with injuries in the past, Ertz’s pass-catching and pass-protection skills could be highly coveted as teams look to make a final postseason push, and it shouldn’t be long before he finds himself a new home.
