Bill Moseley of 'Scared to Death' and 'Texas Chainsaw 2' Interview

Newsweek recently had the opportunity to sit down with legendary horror actor and unexpected rock and roll icon Bill “Dog Will Hunt” Moseley to discuss his latest film, Scared to Death. Known for his chilling performances in cult classics such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 and House of 1000 Corpses, Moseley has become a household name in the horror genre. But with his new film, he is taking on a different kind of role that is sure to surprise and thrill audiences.

Scared to Death follows the story of a young woman, played by newcomer Sarah French, who is plagued by terrifying nightmares that seem to come to life. Moseley plays the role of her therapist, Dr. Lance Belanger, who helps her uncover the truth behind her nightmares. The film is a departure from Moseley’s usual villainous characters, but he was excited to take on the challenge.

“It’s always fun to play the bad guy, but it’s also nice to mix it up and play a different type of character,” Moseley shared with Newsweek. “Dr. Belanger is a complex character, and I enjoyed exploring his motivations and unraveling the mystery of the film.”

Aside from his acting skills, Moseley is also known for his love of music and his band, Cornbugs. With a background in music and theater, it’s no surprise that Moseley was drawn to the role of Dr. Belanger, who is also a musician. “I’ve always been fascinated by the connection between music and horror,” Moseley explained. “Both have the power to evoke strong emotions and create a certain atmosphere.”

In fact, Moseley’s love for music has even led him to collaborate with some of his fellow horror icons, including Rob Zombie and Buckethead. “Music has always been a big part of my life, and I’m grateful to have been able to incorporate it into my acting career as well,” he said.

But despite his success in the horror genre, Moseley is no stranger to branching out and taking on different roles. In fact, he has appeared in a variety of films and TV shows, showcasing his versatility as an actor. However, he admits that horror will always hold a special place in his heart.

“I grew up watching horror films and have always been drawn to the genre,” Moseley shared. “There’s something about being scared that is both thrilling and cathartic. It’s a unique experience for both the audience and the actors involved.”

When asked about his thoughts on the current state of the horror industry, Moseley had nothing but praise for the genre. “Horror has always been a resilient genre, and it’s only getting stronger,” he said. “There are so many talented filmmakers and actors pushing the boundaries and creating unique and terrifying stories. It’s an exciting time to be a part of it.”

As for his future projects, Moseley has no plans of slowing down anytime soon. He has several films in the works, including a highly anticipated horror-comedy with his friend and frequent collaborator, Sid Haig. “I’m always looking for new and interesting roles to sink my teeth into,” Moseley said with a grin. “I’ll never get tired of scaring people.”

With his passion for the genre and his incredible talent, there’s no doubt that Moseley will continue to leave a lasting impression on audiences. And with Scared to Death set to hit theaters soon, fans can look forward to seeing him in a whole new light. So buckle up and get ready to be scared to death by Bill “Dog Will Hunt” Moseley.
