In an exclusive interview, Puerto Rican artist, Luisa Rodriguez, opened up about her experience creating the music video for Gap’s spring campaign, “Sweats Like This.” The talented singer and songwriter shared her thoughts on the collaboration and the inspiration behind the catchy tune.

Rodriguez, who is known for her unique blend of Latin and pop music, was approached by Gap to create a song and music video for their new spring collection. As a long-time fan of the brand, she was thrilled at the opportunity and immediately got to work.

“I’ve always loved Gap’s style and their commitment to diversity and inclusivity,” Rodriguez said. “So when they reached out to me, I was beyond excited to be a part of their campaign.”

The music video, which features Rodriguez and a diverse group of dancers, showcases the versatility and comfort of Gap’s spring collection. The catchy lyrics and upbeat rhythm perfectly capture the essence of the brand and its message of self-expression and confidence.

“I wanted to create a song that would make people feel good and confident in their own skin,” Rodriguez explained. “And I think the video does just that. It celebrates individuality and encourages people to embrace their unique style.”

The video was shot in Puerto Rico, Rodriguez’s home country, and she made sure to incorporate elements of her culture into the visuals. From the vibrant colors to the energetic dance moves, the video is a true representation of Puerto Rican culture and its love for music and fashion.

“I wanted to pay homage to my roots and showcase the beauty of Puerto Rico,” Rodriguez shared. “It was important for me to infuse my culture into the video and I’m grateful that Gap supported my vision.”

In addition to the music video, Gap has also released a limited-edition collection featuring lyrics from the song on their iconic sweatshirts and t-shirts. A portion of the proceeds from the collection will be donated to a charity that supports Puerto Rico’s recovery efforts after the devastating hurricanes in 2017.

“I’m honored to be a part of a campaign that not only celebrates diversity and self-expression but also gives back to my home country,” Rodriguez expressed. “It’s a cause that is close to my heart and I’m grateful to Gap for their support.”
