Jo Kessel Boards Disney Destiny for Exclusive Three-Night Voyage
Excitement filled the air as I boarded Disney Destiny, the newest addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet. As an avid Disney fan and travel writer, I was lucky enough to be one of the few guests to experience this magical ship before its maiden voyage on November 20th from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Stepping onto the ship, I was immediately transported into a world of wonder and enchantment. From the grand atrium to the smallest details, the attention to detail and Disney magic was evident everywhere. As I explored the ship, I couldn’t help but feel like a child again, eagerly anticipating all the adventures and memories that awaited me.
The first stop on my journey was my stateroom, and I was blown away by the spacious and luxurious accommodations. The room was adorned with elegant Disney touches, from the bedding to the artwork on the walls. I couldn’t wait to curl up in the cozy bed and watch the ocean pass by outside my window.
Next, it was time to explore the ship’s amenities, and there was no shortage of entertainment options. From the thrilling water slides at the AquaDuck to the tranquil adult-only pool area, there was something for everyone. The kids’ clubs were also a highlight, with interactive activities and characters to keep the little ones entertained while parents could relax and enjoy some time to themselves.
But what truly sets Disney Destiny apart from other cruise ships is the world-class entertainment. I was fortunate enough to attend the premiere of “Frozen: A Musical Spectacular,” and I was left in awe by the incredible production. The talented cast brought the beloved characters to life, and the special effects and set design were truly out of this world.
As for dining options, Disney Destiny did not disappoint. From casual quick-service options to fine dining experiences, there was a wide variety of cuisines to choose from. I particularly enjoyed the themed restaurants, such as Rapunzel’s Royal Table and Tiana’s Place, where the characters from the movies would visit your table for photos and autographs.
One of the highlights of my journey was the private island, Castaway Cay. This tropical paradise, exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests, was a dream come true. I spent the day lounging on the white sandy beaches, snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters, and indulging in a delicious barbecue lunch. It was the perfect day in paradise, and I couldn’t imagine a more magical setting.
As my three-night voyage came to an end, I couldn’t help but feel sad to leave Disney Destiny. The ship had quickly become my home away from home, and I was already planning my next visit. Disney truly knows how to create an unforgettable experience, and Disney Destiny is no exception.
I am beyond excited for the maiden voyage of Disney Destiny on November 20th, and I can confidently say that guests are in for a treat. Whether you’re a Disney fan or simply looking for a memorable vacation, this ship has something for everyone. So pack your bags and get ready to set sail on the adventure of a lifetime with Disney Destiny. Trust me, it will be a voyage you’ll never forget.
