Falcons Work Out 1 Former First-Round Pick

The Atlanta Falcons are making moves to improve their roster as they head into the heart of training camp. With the team looking to add more talent, they recently worked out a familiar face – cornerback C.J. Henderson, who was selected in the Top 10 of the 2020 NFL Draft.

According to sources, Henderson’s workout with the Falcons was a success, and it remains to be seen if the team will ultimately sign him. But the fact that they are showing interest in the young cornerback speaks volumes about the Falcons’ commitment to building a strong and competitive team.

For those unfamiliar with Henderson, he burst onto the scene as a highly touted prospect out of the University of Florida. The Jacksonville Jaguars selected him with the ninth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, making him the first defensive player and first cornerback to come off the board that year.

Unfortunately, Henderson’s time with the Jaguars did not go according to plan. Injuries and inconsistency plagued his rookie season, limiting him to just eight games and 36 tackles. But despite the rough start to his professional career, it seems the Falcons still see potential in the young cornerback.

Adding a top-10 talent like Henderson to their roster would certainly be a huge boon for the Falcons’ defense. With veteran cornerback A.J. Terrell already holding down one side of the field, Henderson could provide the Falcons with a much-needed boost on the other side.

It’s also worth noting that the Falcons have made it a point to add speed and athleticism to their defense this offseason. And at 6-foot-1 and 204 pounds, Henderson certainly fits the bill. His combination of size, speed, and physicality make him an ideal fit for the Falcons’ defensive scheme.

But beyond his on-field potential, Henderson’s workout with the Falcons is a testament to his hard work and determination. Despite a rocky start to his NFL career, he continues to put in the work and show teams that he has what it takes to be a reliable and impactful player.

And it seems the Falcons are not the only team taking notice of Henderson’s efforts. According to reports, other teams around the league have also expressed interest in the former Florida Gator. But it remains to be seen if anyone will take a chance on him and give him a shot at redemption.

For the Falcons, adding Henderson to their roster would be a low-risk, high-reward move. If he can stay healthy and tap into his potential, he could quickly become a key piece of their defensive puzzle. And even if things don’t work out, the Falcons can simply move on without any significant consequences.

As we approach the start of the 2021 NFL season, all eyes will be on the Falcons and their revamped roster. With the addition of a potential top-tier talent like Henderson, the team’s future looks bright and full of potential. Only time will tell if this workout will turn into a full-fledged signing, but one thing is for sure – the Falcons are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for greatness.
