Sheinbaum calls for the continuation of the Fourth Transformation to enhance workers’ conditions.

Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the National Coordinator for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, underscored the significance of workers’ prosperity for the overall health of the nation and its entrepreneurs at the XV Ordinary National Congress of the Confederation of Autonomous Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM).

During the congress, Sheinbaum formalized a collaboration with CATEM to integrate various sectors into Mexico’s public life transformation efforts. She emphasized the country’s current positive trajectory and the necessity to advance labor rights while avoiding regression to past issues. She highlighted the shared objective of avoiding a return to corruption and privileges and continuing with the Fourth Transformation.

In her role inaugurating the Labor Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation within CATEM, Sheinbaum reiterated her commitment to safeguarding workers’ rights and wages, and stressed the need for collaboration with entrepreneurs. “We are united by a fundamental goal: to avoid a return to past corruption and privileges, and to continue advancing the Fourth Transformation of Mexico’s public life,” she asserted.

“I pledge to keep defending workers’ wages and benefits. Our shared goal is to progress together for the benefit of both workers and our country,” she concluded.

Pedro Haces Barba, senator and general secretary of CATEM, commended the strides made in the partnership between the working class and the 4T government, including the minimum wage increase and the end of subcontracting. “We are at a pivotal moment, and from this congress, we reaffirm our dedication to the principles of the Fourth Transformation,” Haces Barba remarked.

Senator Ricardo Monreal also attended, stressing the importance of maintaining a constructive relationship between workers and the government to further labor rights. “The pact and alliance must be established now, with Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo,” Monreal concluded at the XV National Congress of CATEM.
