On November 21, 2023, the Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, together with the Governor of Luanda, Manuel Homem, the Secretary of State for Energy, António Belsa da Costa, and officials from the Ministry of Energy and Water, as well as EPAL administration members, inspected several EPAL projects in the capital, Luanda.
A detailed analysis was conducted on Phase III of the Candelabro Water Treatment Plant, which was constructed to enhance water supply capacity and resolve shortages in certain areas of Luanda. The New Airport Water Distribution Center (Lot Q5) was also visited; this project will have a nominal capacity of 40,000 cubic meters, benefiting about 789,943 people.
Furthermore, the Bom Jesus Water Distribution Center (Lot Q8), part of the Quilonga Grande system 5 and currently 5.72% physically completed, was assessed and is set to have a capacity of 30,000 cubic meters.
To conclude the visit, the minister and the Governor of Luanda inaugurated the KK 5000 agency, which features a service room, an office, and a spacious waiting area.
