The Indianapolis Colts are currently in flux, as star running back Jonathan Taylor seems to have one foot out the door after demanding a trade following an inability to secure a contract extension.
He hasn’t played this season, yet the Colts are 1-1, which has perhaps given them some hope they can return to the playoffs for the first time since 2020.
Rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson has shown some promise as a dual-threat signal-caller, and he has said he would compare his game to that of Lamar Jackson and Cam Newton.
Jackson said that the comment made him “feel old,” but he also added that he appreciates being used as a comparison while saying he was impressed when he saw Richardson play in college a couple of times, via the NFL on Twitter.

Through two games, Richardson’s passing stats aren’t too impressive — 279 yards, one touchdown pass, and one interception on a 63.8 percent completion rate — but he has also run for 75 yards and three touchdowns.
That’s in line with what he did in his last season at the University of Florida when he threw for 2,549 yards and 17 touchdowns but completed only 53.8 percent of his attempts while adding 654 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.
Richardson’s stock rose during the draft combine as teams were impressed with him during the interview process, and it was good enough for Indianapolis to take him with the No. 4 selection in April’s draft.
For the first time since Andrew Luck retired following the 2018 season, they may have a legitimate franchise quarterback in the 6-foot-4, 232-pound first-year man.
