Over the past two seasons, the New Orleans Pelicans have looked like one of the most promising young teams in the NBA, with Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram becoming a dynamic duo.

Unfortunately, injuries have taken a toll on the Pelicans, with Williamson really struggling to stay healthy and Ingram not far behind him.

Even though the team is talented from top to bottom and plays like an elite NBA squad when healthy, the Pelicans haven’t been able to stay healthy, leading to questions about whether this team can live up to its potential.

Coming into the 2023-24 NBA season, the Pelicans will be under a lot of pressure to finally become the team everyone expects them to be with two stars leading the way, which ESPN’s Zach Lowe broke down on ESPN.

Fortunately for New Orleans, Williamson is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season, which is obviously a massive step in the right direction for the franchise that desperately needs him prepared to take on the 82-game grind.

Lowe points out that Williamson is a dominant force when he’s healthy and motivated to play at the highest level, as he can do anything on the floor.

With a healthy Williamson, the offense in New Orleans won’t have many issues due to his versatility, and the Pelicans will greatly benefit from his presence on the floor.

However, if Williamson struggles with injury issues once again, the Pelicans may have to go in a different direction once the NBA trade deadline rolls around.

That said, the Pelicans will only have a few months to prove this can work and that there’s a bright future in New Orleans with Williamson leading the way.
