Earlier this month, the Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Guardians engaged in a heated brawl after an altercation between Tim Anderson and Jose Ramirez.
Anderson had tagged Ramirez hard at second base and Ramirez took exception.
The two threw punches at each other, with Anderson landing a few hits before Ramirez swiped back and knocked the White Sox shortstop down.
Both stars were suspended but appealed and were able to get their suspensions reduced.
Anderson’s suspension is down to five games, and he’ll begin serving it on Friday night.
On his Instagram story, the former batting champion issued an apology for his actions.

Anderson began by apologizing to the entire White Sox organization, including his coaches, teammates, and the fans.
The star shortstop expressed how 2023 has been a difficult season for him.
He said he wouldn’t get into specifics about what was said by Ramirez and other Guardians players, but he also acknowledged that nothing excused his actions and took full responsibility for what took place.
Anderson also commented that players on the Guardians roster could say whatever they wanted and added that he had the utmost respect for the game of baseball.
“No one has more respect for the game of baseball than me,” Anderson said in his statement.
The star shortstop ended his statement by saying he looked forward to returning from his suspension and helping the White Sox win games down the stretch.
Chicago has had a poor season to date as they own a record of 48-73.
